Decoding AI Feedback: What Every Manager Needs to Know

Are you a supervisor or manager and worried that you will be made obsolete by AI?

Believe me I know the feeling - But I think we can understand more by considering this one question.

Would you be comfortable getting feedback on your performance if it was created by AI?

Not such an easy question is it - maybe this is a good thing if your performance is easily quantifiable and data related, or if you don’t trust your boss.  But what if your job requires a lot of uniquely human interactions and social intelligence.

A recent study asked this question to a group of employees to get an idea of how AI and person to person leadership situations may be perceived. 

After asking over 500 individuals it was clear that there is confidence in what AI can do for business and the workplace.  However, this confidence is related specifically to repetitive tasks, research, and complex data analysis.  

But - when it comes to talent development, strategizing, and problem solving complex and unique situations these are very human interactions where employees are not so comfortable with AI giving them feedback. 

So as long as humans are still working side by side we are always going to need human interaction and feedback
