Is Your Boss a Phubber? How to Improve Workplace Morale

There haven't been a ton of studies out there, but the ones completed show that leaders phubbing is not only common but also has detrimental impact on the organization. Several of these studies have documented an association between leader phubbing and employees negative work outcomes such as lower self-esteem, lower job engagement and poor job performance.
When you phub as a leader, your employees believe they don't have significant value in the workplace resulting in decreased productivity. Are you a new supervisor or manager? Seeing this in your workplace? Do you phub? Is your boss a phubber? We have some suggestions to fix this. Stop now! If you're in a leadership position and you have a scheduled meeting, add it to your work calendar so your team knows where you are.
If you don't answer your phone, then turn your phone off. Put it away.
